With reference to Your Lordship's despatch No.174
of 24th June, 1931, on the subject of the inspection of mui-tsai,
I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that arrangements
have been made whereby a European Sub-Inspector of Police has
been seconded to the Secretariat for Chinese Affairs for the
inspection of registered mui-tsai.
2. It has further been decided to appoint two Chinese
female inspectors as soon as suitable candidates are forthcoming
and enquiries are now being made with that end in view. Provision
for the salaries of these female inspectors will be asked for
in the Estimates for 1932, and, if suitable candidates can be
obtained this year, special provision will be made for their
salaries.
